Mid-Year Newsletter, 2017

Welcome to our mid-year newsletter

There’s been a lot happening at Stream Art Design already for 2017, including our recent office renovations. We’re all settled back in now, and look forward to welcoming you to into our new-look space.

We also celebrated our 8th birthday. It’s a wonderful feeling to look back and reflect on all the exciting projects we’ve been involved in over the years, and the wonderful ‘Stream team’ family that has grown and developed over the course of that time.

Please read on…

The Colour Room

A talented hairdressing trio in Killara, Sydney, needed a logo to match their beautiful personalities and impressive resume – including L’Oréal Professionals and a Gold Key Ambassador for Kevin Murphy. We created a brand presence and a website, that is reflective of their hair care philosophy and appeal to their local clientele.

Par-Avion Wilderness Tours

Par-Avion Wilderness Tours offer day trips and multi-day trips to the South West of Tasmania (a world-heritage listed destination, only accessible via boat, air or foot), and the east coast of Tasmania including Freycinet Peninsula and the famous Wine Glass Bay. We recently updated their suite of retail brochures to advertise these beautiful parts of Tasmania to incoming and local tourists.

Parry wedding stationery

It was our delight to assist Rachael and Lucas with their Penguin publisher-themed wedding stationery. Items included a ‘save the date’ bookmark, invitation booklet, and programs for the wedding day and ceremony. While it was rumoured that the bridesmaids were to be dressed in orange, everyone enjoyed the day immensely and Rachael and Lucas graciously received many penguin-themed wedding gifts.

Church Hill Brewery labels

Church Hill Brewery is boutique craft beer that’s hand crafted in the Huon Valley. Our brief was to harness the idea of the eternal quest for the ultimate beer product. In doing this, we worked with our client to create a brand that was also reflective of an ancient look and feel. Along the way we’ve designed beer labels, signage and corporate stationery (business cards). Church Hill Brewery now have their beer on tap in many pubs and venues around Hobart, Tasmania. Visit www.churchhillbrewery.com.au for more info.

Cake-a-Hike packaging

After a six-day strenuous hike in Tasmania, our client realised just how much she was looking forward to dessert that night – only to discover no one else had desserts with them, and were hoping to acquire some of hers! Cake-a-hike was born to satisfy the hiking market and those wanting eco-friendly, light weight and natural ingredients in their desserts. We were asked to create a quirky logo design that reflected our client’s personality, and design packaging that was light weight and made from recycled post-consumer waste. We’re also building a shopping cart website which is soon to be released.

TasTAFE Devonport student kiosk

We had the privilege of being involved in a trial initiative with TasTAFE for their Devonport Campus – a student kiosk, allowing pupils access to a range of services, was being created and needed signage. Our aim was to create an inspiring design to cover the perspex walls of the kiosk, in 1-way film. We developed a lively combination of drawings that depicted students in different disciplines, on a vibrant background of various orange tones.

Rhuby Delights vehicle signage

We’re delighted for our client Rhuby Delights who had his vehicle signage installed recently. A combination of one-way vision (so that Malcolm can still see to drive) and digitally printed imagery. You’ll see Malcolm on his best behaviour now, driving throughout Tasmania, as he delivers the delicious and indulgent Rhuby products. Visit www.rhubydelights.com.au for more info.

Synapse Medical Dubai expo

Our client Synapse Medical Services, were very proud to exhibit recently at the Arab Health conference, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. With 4,400 exhibitors and approximately 80,000 delegates, it was a pretty big deal. Our brief was to design a display booth which announced Synapse’s move into the region, having recently established a Dubai-based office. The expo was very successful for Synapse, who signed four contracts in the region including an exclusive partnership. Visit www.synapsemedical.com.au for more info.

Cherry Hill Coolstores app

We’ve been working with our client, Cherry Hill Coolstores in Latrobe Tasmania, to automate their daily duties with Xero. The system we have created is a custom-built App for iPad’s, to manage their staff’s workflow. Most of the staff are none the wiser – but when they perform a task, this automatically generates an invoice in their accounting software. It saves on a lot of paperwork and also double-handling – making their team more efficient, whilst creating accurate workflow records.

Par-Avion Flight Training

Par-Avion Flight Training are very active in their promotion to students. Whether seeking a private pilot’s licence or entering a commercial pilot training program, or for some weekend fun on a 737 simulator. For a recent careers expo at Rosny College in Hobart, we created some pull up banners to catch the eye of the next generation of pilots. Visit www.paft.com.au for more info.

Office renovations complete

With almost 12 months in the planning, our new office space was completed just prior to our 8th birthday celebrations. The very talented Jane Valentine of Valentine interiors + design helped us achieve the look and feel we were after (www.valentineinteriors.com.au). We look forward to welcoming you into our space, next time you’re in the neighbourhood.

TasTAFE art and design workshop

We were delighted to run an art and graphic design workshop recently, for a mixture of TasTAFE, Don and Hellyer College students, at the TasTAFE Burnie campus in Tasmania. All part of an initiative by Jen Byrne for the “Working well, living well” project, and with the aim of helping students with symptoms of depression or anxiety. Our pro-bono workshop aimed to inspire students to create a range of interesting artwork and symbols, which will go into a booklet and appear on a website. We cannot wait to see what they come up with.

Thank you for your time. We hope you’ve enjoyed reading our mid-year newsletter, and we look forward to working with you on your next design project – Stream Art Design.
