Wishing you a Merry Christmas, 2018

Wishing you a Merry Christmas, 2018

2018 was a year that brought us and our clients many blessings, with projects varying from abalone to Antarctica.

We feel very lucky as graphic designers to have worked on a wide variety of projects, with an incredible range of businesses in Tasmania, interstate and overseas. And we’ve loved every minute!

We thank you for your business, support and friendship during 2018, and we wish you a truly exceptional Christmas and a very happy New Year.

Best wishes,

Please read on for a recap of our year + Christmas closure dates…

BRANDING

We had the pleasure of creating a logo for new business venture, Feast and Fossick Tasmania. The result, a hand-crafted logo much like their unique gourmet adventure tours, with an embellished ‘ff’ as the graphic icon. Visit feastfossicktasmania.com.au to organise your own gourmet adventure trails for 2019.

What a wonderful opportunity it was to work with Alicia from Explore Learning Educational Care in Bridport, Tasmania. We got to feel like kids again as we explored (pun intended) new logo concepts to communicate their important role as educators for our youth. The successful design used a playful bold font that incorporated shape association, with the letter ‘l’ becoming the trunk of a tree that represents growth, wisdom, nurturing, positive energy and a bright future.

We were commissioned to refresh the brand of New Horizons – who have been providing inclusive sport, recreation and social opportunities to Tasmanians with disability since 1986. The collaborative effort resulted in a simple and striking logo, using a bright colour palette, that gives off a positive and friendly vibe. Their new branding was showcased on pullup banners, menus, wall signage, and more, at their annual fundraising event ‘Field of Dreams’ Gala, held in Launceston in October.

“It was a pleasure working with the wonderfully creative and ever-patient Stream Design team! Our brief was challenging and changed a number of times; we were very grateful to Kate and Anita for sharing not only their design expertise with us, but also a sense of calm and generosity of spirit throughout our project. We couldn’t be more thrilled with our refreshed logo and suite of new marketing materials.”

PRINTED MATERIALS + DIGITAL

Our beautiful promotional catalogues for Tas Live Abalone in Tasmania, who were off to China to promote their delicious Tasmanian produce.

We were asked to design a catalogue showpiece that had wow factor. Nothing says wow like gold foil, right? The resulting printed piece includes a premium paper with matt laminate and gold foil on the cover pages. Our client was delighted and so were we.

If you’d like to order abalone, visit the Tas Live Abalone website.

The Colour Room are a hairdressing salon in Killara, Sydney. We designed some beautiful gift vouchers and appointment cards for the girls, which were printed onto 100% recycled Revive Laser. The chosen paper beautifully complemented the watercolour graphic in their logo, and gives the cards a lovely textural feel for your hands.

Visit the Colour Room website for more info.

A catalogue we designed for local photographer Heath Holden’s first public exhibition, which was on display at the Cradle Mountain Wilderness Gallery during July-October this year. Black is a prominent part of Heath’s devil photographs, which are all taken at night. To protect the brochures against finger prints, we added a matt laminate finish to the front and back cover.

Heath is a Tasmanian-based photographer who has captured some incredible photographs of Tasmanian Devils in their natural habitat. Recently published in the National Geographic magazine, Heath’s CV is pretty impressive.

You can order Heath’s beautiful devil photographs here.

The design of the Australian Pharmacy Council (APC) Annual Report this year, showcased watercolour inspired design and infographics.

This gave the layout an organic and lively appeal, resulting in a visually stunning design solution for a report that is seen digitally from the APC website.

PACKAGING

A new-look for Rhuby Delight’s quintessential range of chocolate-coated rhubarb treats. Now fully-printed and with glossy UV highlights, they are looking better than ever. We’ve worked with Malcolm Ryan of Rhuby Innovations since day one, and we feel part of the Rhuby family.

You can order these and more chocolate-coated goodness via the Rhuby website.

We designed the logo and packaging labels for the delicious Bloobs blueberries of Gardners Bay Blueberries in Tasmania.

These blueberries were the biggest and sweetest we’ve ever tasted! If you’re in the Hobart-area, look out for their 125, 250g or 500g punnets in a supermarket near you.

Follow them on Facebook for the latest blueberry news.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Freesias from Blokker look divine in our office (or anywhere in fact). Boasting long lasting blooms in array of colours and Tasmanian grown, Blokker Freesias are available to florists, wholesale.

Anita spent a morning, photographing these lovely blooms for Blokker’s promotional material. You can order a beautiful bouquet of freesias from ‘Flowers on Gilbert’ in Latrobe, Tasmania.

Visit blokker.com.au for more info about freesias, or order online here flowersongilbert.com.au.

SIGNAGE

Cherry Hill Coolstores recent vehicle signage, includes a beautiful chrome finish and keeps the boys’ vehicles looking very professional indeed. Our client had requested something with a bit of wow factor and they wanted it to be 3-dimensional. And they were thrilled!

PROMOTIONAL

Congratulations to our client Karin Koch and her Pooseum who celebrated their offical grand opening in November of their poo-museum. Have you been yet? It’s a great family activity for the school holidays.

It’s a mix of education and fun. Don’t forget to watch “PooTube” or have a go at their farting machine, while you’re there. Or you might like to pick yourself up a children’s book about poo – wouldn’t that make a fabulous Christmas present.

Visit pooseum.com.au to learn more.

A promotional poster design for Agfest this year, with our client ‘Rhuby Innovations’ who was talking about the ‘7 awesome health benefits of dark chocolate’ – now, we’re all ears for that!

Agfest is held annually and is highly worth the trip if you haven’t ever been to one. You can pickup a bargain in just about anything – from farming equipment, to alpaca clothing … or of course, chocolate.

OUR LATEST NEWS

Pubic Appearances in Antarctica – earlier this year, Anita presented at a medical conference – in Antarctica!

Not the easiest thing to do over the rocky Drake Passage.

There was a delightful mix of medical disciplines onboard, and Anita spoke about APHRA guidelines and the benefits that social media can play in patient education.

Professional Development – Meet Teresa Badrock from ‘Hypnotherapy Devonport & Launceston‘. The Stream girls underwent some professional and personal development with Teresa, to enable us to to create a better version of ourselves. Teresa says,

“I have found hypnotherapy to be an incredibly effective tool to help people make positive, lasting changes in their life. Your mind is retrained so that it runs the emotions and responses that you want more of”.

Time to Celebrate

Our staff Christmas lunch this year was held at Mrs Jones’ restaurant in Devonport. Delicious food and great company, it was a lovely finish to 2018.
